The Trailer Home Controversy

One of the most debated issues in Hialeah has been the recent ban on RVs and trailer homes. Many residents relied on these for affordable housing, but illegal sewer hookups, overcrowding, and strain on city infrastructure prompted officials to act. The move aims to prevent a larger crisis, similar to the proliferation of illegal efficiency units decades ago. Other cities, including Miami Gardens, have followed Hialeah’s lead.
